'Learning in the landscape' school garden

Brief: New external spaces and sustainable interventions for a secondary school based in Lewes, Sussex.

Concept: We drew inspiration from the local geography, using fluid, organic shapes that echo the surrounding chalk hills and river valley. This project bridges architecture and education: the diverse plant life invites students to study ecological resilience and seasonal shifts firsthand, whilst the new courtyard garden is designed as an inclusive sanctuary - providing a calming, sensory retreat for teachers and students with special educational needs.
